Anatoli and Svetlana have lived for two years under fire in Pesky, a village located beside Donetsk Airport, and refuse to be evacuated despite the daily non-stop bombing and fighting. They live partly underground in their basement, which they have transformed into a living area. They are both 72 years old and the last remaining inhabitants of Pesky, where more than 3,000 people once lived before war broke out between the pro-Russian rebels and the Ukrainian army. Water, gas and electricity connections are destroyed but the Ukrainian army helps them with food supplies. Anatoli has been a beekeeper all his life and he feels a deep love and responsibility for them. Abandoning them in the war was no option.
